The Sanghyang Jaran dance is danced by a man riding a piggyback made of coconut leaf midrib. The dancers are possessed by the spirit of divine horses from heaven, accompanied by a choir singing Gending Sanghyang, walking around with their eyes closed, walking and jogging with bare feet, trampling on the burning coals of coconut shells spread in the middle of the arena.
